Hudson’s Bay 3.5 Point wool blanket by Gault’s in England. Made by various manufacturers over the years, Hudson’s Bay “Points” blankets were originally traded to First Nations beginning in the late 1700s in exchange for beaver pelts and accounted for a large part of the fur trade. “Points” refers to the system used where short black lines are woven just above the bottom set of stripes to allow easy determination of the blanket’s size even when folded. This blanket is 3.5 points, or twin size. Still useful today, and will last for years to come!
